Jlloyd Samuel visits with CSA!
Thursday 22 May 2008

Jlloyd Samuel spent an unforgettable evening with CSA last Thursday. Recreational and select soccer players, their parents, and coaches all joined together as a unified club to provide a warm welcome for one of England’s best. Jlloyd was greeted by two club officers, CSA President Chris Prather and Secretary Jenny Barrett who presented Jlloyd with a commemorative ball, a bag, and a ball cap all proudly displaying the CSA logo. CSA Technical Director Coach Myron Garnes organized a series of small-sided games where players had an opportunity to have a fun-filled evening of "street soccer" where players of all ages got a chance to test their skills against each other. Jlloyd spent over two hours with the club, giving every child a chance to find out about his life as a professional soccer player in one of the most competitive leagues in the world, the English Premier League.

Coach Garnes lectures CSA Select Coaches
April 4 2008
Last Thursday Coach Garnes, CSA Technical Director, provided an interactive lecture on strategies for playing 1v1, 2v2, 4v4, 5v5, 8v8(and 7v7) and 11v11 soccer. Part of the lecture was timely advice to the CSA select coaches after watching numerous futsal games, practices, and a few tournament games. A system-of-play and a style-of-play were recommended for 4v4 and 8v8(7v7). Also, the popular systems-of-play were dicsussed for 11v11 with a focus on how to exploit the strengths of CSA players and weaknesses of opposing teams. The time together went so quickly, that we plan to hold additional sessions in the future to continue the dialogue.
